Servers and Why You Should Care

Servers are computers designed as the hub to a spoke network of other client computers and are mainly designed to process information requests and deliver data over a network (or the Internet in the case of dedicated web servers).

Network servers typically have suped-up processing, memory and storage capacity to be able to handle the demands of other users at computers or across the web. The Client/Server model enables servers to house applications that can be accessed and run by other computers, relieving those client computers of the heavy processing load.
